“Green Palm” is a hand-painted fashion illustration developed for the MARRISA WILSON New York Spring/Summer ’23 Runway Collection, “Of Many Waters,” which will debut on the NYFW Runway on September 11, 2022. The auction for “Green Palm” will launch as the model walks down the runway wearing the physical representation of the style depicted within the illustration itself. This artwork and design will be featured within the NYFW.com livestream of the show, making this the first-ever collection of fashion illustrations released as a digital art series in conjunction with a NYFW Runway Show – a historic moment for fashion in Web3. “Green Palm” will be Look 26 in the MARRISA WILSON New York Spring/Summer ’23 Runway Collection, and one of five pieces in the MW Genesis NYFW Fashion Illustration Series. Collectors will receive a framed print of their illustration and will be entered into a raffle to receive another hand-painted fashion illustration featured in the NYFW Runway Show for free.

Hope that put an end to the music. I now find myself back here, Giving voice to the stories you can’t hear, selling dreams to an empty register, and dancing to the still silence of hope. You set sail long ago. One that has no return. So often, I wander back to recollect.. At the endless dock.
Every shot that I make contains a shard of my soul. I am inspired by the movement of light and the role it plays in human perception.

Triptych: “Hesitation. Numbness. Elevation” Hesitation: Each of us has to find the strength to move on choicelessly. If we don’t, we will perish into the past. It feels like there is no hope, everything is lost, and the darkness has consumed everything. The resin blankets me as I fight to protect my world with every ounce of my strength. From behind the rock, I move in anguish and looks around; regret and pain have filled my heart. I don’t give up, for I know patience will re-strengthen my soul. So she waits. Numbness: There are no victories without blood. You can’t rise without first dissolving into dust. Don’t you know it’s impossible to be beautiful without it? It takes courage. I stumbled; the resin tightened my hands and spread all over my body; I couldn’t scream or move. I felt cold and afraid. A million convulsions pass through me and my body. Everyone is scared of changes because you don’t want to lose everything you know over a single mistake. Some overcome the fear of numbness to become invincible. Elevation: The voices in our heads speak doubtful things, yet they seem enchanting. I take a deep breath and continue to listen. I am unwavering since it’s my world. Every step will remind you of the few mistakes you made in the face of a thousand victories, the universe moves in harmony with you. Reminding you that we are the masters of our worlds and must fight to retain that awareness. The struggle of being covered by the resin seems endless; It feels like we are left alone with it, at war with our own selves, in an eternal, dark night of the soul. We rise despite all of it. If we take our common perception of time out of the equation, then we can see that the same laws apply everywhere. Where a raindrop dries up on the warm concrete, and how the ancient sea receded, leaving behind the deep canyons; in the merging of two galaxies, and in the movement of the foam on a cappuccino. Countless dimensions, where everything is in a state of constatant change, through which you can travel by guiding your imagination and the focus of your attention. I see a human as a part of this grand organized chaos, the multi-dimensional fractal structure. A human is a strange attractor that creates a gravity pool in space, drawing into it the thoughts they consider their own, the events they sincerely desire or fear the most, the dreams, the feelings, the memories from the past lives, the other humans.

As Much As Nothing

As Much as Nothing refers to the existence of something being near equal to nothing. This piece has two parts: one digital, and the other physical. The digital NFT portion is an AI-generated landscape with a mirror-image of two Spirit Snacks ‘floating’ inside a pill-shaped dome. The physical piece is a mirrored altarpiece upon which are two glass bell jars – one with a physical 3D printed sculpture in its full physical glory, showing its reflection on all nearby reflective surfaces. The other empty glass container shows a floating AR version of the same sculpture, activated on via your phone. The AR version does not show its reflection in the mirrors, but it has shadows as it turns and floats within the screen – making it appear to be very much real and engaging in its presence. Purchase of the NFT comes with the entire physical installation.
