‘Resurrection’ is the first ever NFT art piece offered by Persian music legend, and one of the most beloved middle eastern superstars in the World. 

Ebrahim Hamedi, known to his tens of millions of fans as Ebi, has been a touring artist for over 50 years. Hailing from Iran, Ebi is not only regarded as the leading man of pop music in the country’s history, but also seen as a cultural father figure by millions of young Iranians. 

Living in self-exile since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, Ebi, an activist at heart, has not feared voicing his opinion about the current administration’s persecution of freedom of speech and human rights violations. 

Inspired by his love of all things freedom and human rights, Ebi’s first foyer into the avant-garde and exciting world of digital arts, otherwise known as NFT’s is a piece very personal to him. 

Resurrection depicts the tomb of Cyrus The Great, founder of the Persian Empire, and the first world leader to implement Human Rights, 2600 years ago. 

In these distant times, when the world had become stale, kings had reigned as gods, mankind was enslaved, and freedom existed only as an idea. 

Cyrus The Great changed all of that, and with it, the course of history. By conquering suppressive kingdom after kingdom, he allowed all citizens of the newly formed empire to speak the tongue of their ancestors and worship the gods of their choice. He freed all slaves in the empire, including the Hebrews who had been taken as captives and enslaved in Babylon for generations, and returned to them their conquered homeland. 

Today, the Cyrus Cylinder, the first charter of human rights, sits at the British Museum, with a replica housed at the United Nations in New York, as a reminder of just rule to world leaders. 

‘Resurrection’, shows the Tomb of Cyrus coming to life, triggered by the beautifully haunting voice of Ebi. This is a resurrection of the spirit of freedom, justice and humanity, which Ebi longs to see for his homeland.
