My five-part NFT series, “AMC,” was completed.
In these immersive illustrations, I hark back to the excitement of the movie-theater experience in a pre-covid era. Driven by a deep longing of a to return to normalcy, these images feature film references, pop culture icons, and callbacks to the NFT community. You can check out the full series here.
I thought a great way to further this celebration of cinema was to reach out to some of the most revered collectors on SuperRare and ask them two questions about THEIR collection:
- Is there an NFT you own on SR that would make a great movie poster?
- What would you call the movie?
Lots of really fun responses came from this. HUGE thanks to everyone who took the time to answer. It was really fun getting to know everyone a little bit. Please take a chance to check out their collections and the artists they’ve mentioned!

Finishing this year by putting a GAN in Shadows’ hands. This is what they found, when they came back home for Christmas. Future already beGAN. Madame MLIBTY breeded with Artbreeder. ◙ MLIBTY Shadows represent people in general, but also shadows behind the curtains, invisible inhabitants you never meet, but you feel their presence. Sometimes they are watching you, sometimes they smile, black and white, no hands and no legs, shadows with faces. More about the whole project here: https://www.patreon.com/mlibty.

Artist: @moteh

“It would have to be “Howl” by Moteh, for a movie I would call “The Search Unknown”. Taking all things into account that would go into a movie poster, this piece would be the perfect fit with all the white space to fill with text around the main subject, with an ominous feeling of a car sinking, unknowing where it will end up in the depths of the deep blue.” – brandonkangfilms

Ascension is a very personal piece that I did dedicated to my mother. On this day 30 years ago I was born, however I am here by pure luck. My mother was told that she had a tumor at that same time & it was very likely that the tumor would cause complications to my birth. The doctor advised that it was too dangerous to remove the tumor while I was still in her womb & that if she did remove it there was a good chance that she could lose me. At the same time if she had me with the tumor there was good chance of her not making it. She took the chance…and were both still here! This piece represents life (the water flowing from the flower as the beginning of life, and the water flowing out from the bottom of the pool as the beginning of the end) love (the flower as my mother ) and uncertainty of life (the labyrinth) I usually don’t like to describe my pieces to my viewers but this was very personal for me and I wanted the viewer to know exactly what this piece means to me.\ Fun facts about the piece\ 42 hours to complete, sketched in procreate. Outlined and colored in Adobe illustrator. 10800 px× 15110px\ A 1/1 18×27 archival matte print can be printed for the first collection if they so please.

“Infinite CONSUME! a collaboration between carlos marcialt and xcopy. Archeologists, digging in Mesopotamia, discovered the ancient tomb of Nergal — the Mesopotamian god of death. They didn’t heed the inscriptions, and upon breaking the seal of the tomb, an ancient evil was released, unleashing terror, death and decay! Nergal is without true form, but can often be seen in the patterns of flies, vermin and other pestilence that is drawn to him.” –nohbhodi

THIS PIECE SPEAKS DIRECTLY TO ROBNESS’ HEART. IN THE YEAR OF 2011, HE JUST GOT BACK FROM THE TRIP OF HIS LIFE AT BURNING MAN ONLY TO FIND OUT THE DRUMS OF PROTEST AGAINST THE 2008 FINANCIAL CRISIS WAS WELL UNDERWAY. WHILST WORKING AT A RESTAURANT IN HERMOSA BEACH, HE WOULD HOP ON THE BUS TO AND FROM DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES TO PROTEST AGAINST CORPORATIONS LIKE BANK OF AMERICA WHO PLAYED A SEMINAL PART IN THE BAILOUTS. THE OCCUPATIONS ACROSS THE UNITED STATES REACHED A CRITICAL POINT AND MADE IT INTO THE PUBLIC CONSCIOUSNESS, BUT THE MOVEMENT SLOWLY FIZZLED AND ONLY THE MESSAGE GOT ACROSS, NO REAL CHANGE ESTABLISHED. AS WE FAST FORWARD TO WHAT MAY LIVE AS A ‘DAY OF INFAMY,’ A GROUP OF REDDITORS ON A FORUM CALLED /R/WALLSTREETBETS MANAGED TO TAKE DOWN MELVIN CAPITAL, A FIRM THAT WAS CAUGHT SHORT SELLING AND TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE COMPANY GAMESTOP. DURING A PANDEMIC, THIS WAS SEEN AS A SLEAZY MOVE AND THUS THESE GROUP OF ‘RETAIL INVESTORS’ MANAGED TO FIRE AN ARROW OVER THE CASTLE WALLS OF WALL STREET ITSELF AND MANAGED TO TAKE A SCALP FOR THE WORLD TO SEE, SENDING MELVIN CAPITAL WITH LOSSES IN THE BILLIONS. THE FALLOUT OF THIS EVENT TRIGGERED MASS MANIPULATION FROM TRADING PLATFORMS LIKE ROBINHOOD TO STOP TRADING IN AN EFFORT FOR WHAT SEEMED BY MANY TO PROTECT THESE VERY HEDGE FUNDS THAT WERE SUFFERING MASSIVE LOSSES. THE BIG TAKEAWAY FROM THIS EVENT IN U.S. HISTORY, IN MY OPINION, IS NOT ONLY DID IT UNITE BOTH SIDES OF THE POLITICAL SPECTRUM(TED CRUZ AND ALEXANDRIA CORTEZ FINALLY AGREEING ON SOMETHING), BUT IT ALSO BECAME A MOMENT WHERE THE ENTIRE NATION FINALLY REALIZED THE SCOPE OF FRAUD THAT WALL ST. HAS BEEN PRACTICING FOR GOD KNOWS HOW LONG. THIS WAS THE MOMENT EVERYONE REALIZED, WITH THE HELP OF CURRENT FAST AND MOBILE TRADING TECHNOLOGY, THAT THE GAME WAS NEVER IN THEIR FAVOR……IT WAS ALWAYS IN THE HANDS OF THE SMALL FEW. With the UAE’s Hope, China’s Tianwen-1, and US’s Mars 2020 all reaching the The Red Planet in February 2021, will their rovers and orbiters find traces of life? Will our robotic astrobiologists discoveries shed light on where we come from, or will we find Martian microbial life with entirely new cellular structures & molecules? Was Mars once a planet where life thrived, and what will Mars’ past tell us about Earth’s future?

“I think Nogland (Grant Wallich) has this amazing ability in his work to make disgusting looking characters seem as though they are misunderstood. When looking at them you have high levels of empathy for them. I own Salmon and I think it would make a great poster for a story of a misunderstood corpse who is just trying to find his place in life! I could imagine the Cannes and Sundance festival awards over the top for this work!” – olid
